Brand photography, Atlanta

Brand photography in Atlanta has spent the last decade leaning hard into one of two extremes — over-styled stock-pretty imagery on one side, and grainy on-the-fly content on the other. I work in the calmer middle ground: editorial-quality images that read as real, made for brands that already have a clear point of view and want their visual language to match.

Most of my brand work happens in studios across Atlanta — Westside, Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Decatur — or in the spaces my clients already use day-to-day. I'd rather shoot in your real workspace with real light than rent a soundstage and pretend the energy is the same. The exception is a campaign concept that genuinely needs scale; in those cases I bring in a small crew (assistant, stylist, sometimes a producer) and shoot in a studio that fits the work.

What this looks like in practice: a half-day captures one location, two looks, and roughly 25-40 final retouched images delivered within ten business days. A full-day stretches into multiple locations or wardrobe changes and lands closer to 60-90 finals. Brands often book a half-day quarterly to keep their content shelf full without the logistics of an annual mega-shoot.

If you're newer to commissioning brand photography, the most useful thing I can tell you is this: the difference between average and good is rarely the camera or the photographer's skill — it's pre-production. The shoots that turn out best are the ones where we spent thirty minutes on a call beforehand mapping out exactly what each image needs to do for you. Mood, location, wardrobe, props, must-have shots, nice-to-haves. By the time we're shooting, we're refining, not improvising.

I'm comfortable shooting people, products, spaces, and the in-between (founders interacting with their work, hands at a workstation, a team in conversation). What I don't do is event coverage — that's a different skill set and there are excellent Atlanta photographers who specialize there.
